Company analysis

A P&L model of the target, computed, traceable, and scenario-ready.

The company analysis module builds a financial model of the target: a P&L from revenue drivers down to EBITDA, with a valuation view on top. Like everything in Aqmen, it's a structure, not a spreadsheet. The model is a tree of nodes whose math is computed, never generated.

Computed and input nodes

The model has two kinds of nodes:

  • Input nodes hold values you assert: a revenue line from the dataroom, a headcount figure, a price point. Inputs carry sources, like every asserted value in Aqmen.
  • Computed nodes are defined by expressions over other nodes: revenue as price × volume, gross margin as revenue minus COGS. Change an input and everything downstream recomputes.

This split is what makes the model auditable: every computed line traces back through its expression to the inputs (and the sources) that produced it.

Structuring the P&L

Shape the tree to match how the target actually earns money: revenue split by product line, geography, or customer cohort; cost lines at the granularity the dataroom supports. The structure can be reshaped as your understanding of the business improves; the math follows the structure.

Forecasting and valuation

Forecast years are driven by the same hypothesis mechanic as market sizing: named growth assumptions that attach to drivers and dial per scenario (see Hypotheses & scenarios). The valuation sits on top of the model, so an assumption change flows through the P&L into the number the deal team actually debates.

The agent way

An agent can scaffold the P&L from the target's reported structure, populate historicals from the materials you provide, apply hypotheses, and re-run scenarios on request, every change landing as a reviewable edit to the model, not a new spreadsheet version in your inbox.
